US catalogue and online retailer Lillian Vernon now produces catalogues with LAGO

The Hamburg firm Comosoft, software specialist for catalogue and advertising media productions for mail order and tourist companies, has won another large contract in the United States: Lillian Vernon, one of the largest US catalogue and online retailers with headquarters in Rye, New York, has selected LAGO software for editing of its wide product range in both catalogues and the internet. The American firm, which indicated that it had been primarily convinced by the enormous synergies of a consistent workflow which LAGO incorporates, is the fourth US client of Comosoft GmbH which, with over 30 active installations around the world (and approximately 3500 employees) and over ten years of experience, is one of the leading providers in this sector. After JCPenney (Texas), Lillian Vernon is the second largest classic catalogue retailer in the United States to be supported by the Hamburg firm.

Founder Lillian Vernon says: “We decided to choose LAGO after subjecting different offers to intensive examination. The system, which can be integrated in our existing sales systems and processes with particular ease, offers us an ideal combination of user-friendly functionality and cost efficiency.” Moreover, Comosoft’s know-how in terms of the broadness and depth of applications and the many years of experience of the Hamburg firm in catalogue production were decisive factors, particularly as Lillian Vernon indicated that its own requirements were particularly challenging. “LAGO will accelerate and improve working processes, avoid duplicated work in the administrative area and ensure a reliable dataflow from the planning stage through to publication of an advertising medium.” “We are delighted at this cooperation”, says Jochen Marheinecke, a board member from Comosoft, Hamburg. A company like Lillian Vernon in particular, with seven special catalogues and a strong internet platform, will quickly come to appreciate effective simultaneous processing of both these media by LAGO and also the time and costs saved. “Any team member involved in production can carry out his or her work directly and independently of others. Redundancies are thus avoided, and the overall workflow is accelerated as a result.”

Lillian Vernon has been active on the American market for over 50 years and provides gift articles, household goods, garden equipment, Christmas articles and products for children marketed as “Lillian Vernon”, “Lilly’s Kids”, “Personalized Gifts”, “Favorites”, “Rue de France” and “Christmas Memories”.
