For our Hamburg office, we are looking for:
Consultant Media Production - InDesign and Database Know-How (m/f/d)
ABOUT THE JOB:
Our main product at Comosoft is a software product called LAGO, which helps retail, e-commerce, manufacturing and food retail companies to create their optimal marketing and advertising materials. These range from single pages and leaflets throughout large scale catalogs. LAGO is a fairly complex system as it offers database integrations, workflow management and visual template creation. It also very tightly integrates with Adobe InDesign, where the designs are finalized.
The role of the Consultant Media Production at Comosoft is as versatile as the software itself. Contrary to what the name might suggest, this position is not part of our Marketing department but rather part of Professional Services, where you’ll be at the forefront helping our customers implement and operate LAGO.
Here are some of the tasks you’ll carry on:
- You’ll document the existing media creation processes our clients have prior to using LAGO, as well as analyze how these processes need to change to work with LAGO or how LAGO needs to change to meet the needs of the customers.
- You’ll carry out workshops with your clients to teach them to work with LAGO as well as with our InDesign-Plugin.
- You’ll help your customers create design templates and final designs for their marketing materials.
- You’ll be the person of contact for your clients and help them when they have issues with LAGO.
- In case of defects in the software, you’ll work with the engineering team to solve these issues.
As the above tasks suggest you can expect a lot of contact with your customers. This also means that there will be travelling involved once the Pandemic allows for it. Starting the implementation of LAGO with a new customer requires 30% – 50% of your time at your client’s site. This works in a way that you will spend 1-2 weeks at the customer’s site and then some weeks home. For sure, during the COVID-pandemic other rules will apply.
As LAGO is about the production of marketing materials, it tightly integrates with Adobe InDesign through a custom Plugin we’ve built. You’ll be working a lot with and teaching the design and marketing departments of your customers. Thus, a very good knowledge of InDesign is required. This will also help you a lot with learning LAGO itself. In addition, you must have a passion for IT as LAGO and all its subsystems require the technological view on issues at hand. You don’t have to be a software developer, but an affinity for databases, VPN connections and the various operating systems are beneficial.
Thirdly you must love data – in the LAGO world Product Information Data (PIM) – which are the basis for our highly automated processes.
An additional requirement stems from our customer base which are mostly international retail chains (food & nonfood). One of their requirements is that you have a very good English knowledge as most of the project work will be in English. As a nice to have some German knowledge would be appreciated as some of the meetings in client´s Headquarters would be in German.
WHAT WE OFFER:
We are passionate about people, who love technology! Even though we do not chase each new technology hype, we have forgone several major technology transitions already.
We give you the opportunity to unleash your skills by providing you with trust and free space to do it. Of course, your team is always there to help.
You can work from our office in Hamburg, but you can also work from home. We have generous home office rules not only during the pandemic.
And finally, we want to point out that we offer a competitive salary – for work well done, we pay accordingly.
